First run in 1949, the Welsh Grand National has grown into one of the most historic and prestigious races in the sport. Legendary names such as Burrough Hill Lad, Bonanza Boy, Silver Birch and Synchronised have all etched their names into Chepstow’s history on this famous day.
On the track, the feature race – a gruelling test of stamina and courage over Chepstow’s winter turf – is the centrepiece of a superb card of jump racing. The atmosphere is electric as the runners thunder down the home straight, cheered on by thousands of passionate racegoers.
